The Rogovy Foundation envisions a future in which informed and inspired citizens influence our leaders to courageously tackle pressing issues and advance progress towards a more perfect world.
We live in the same house.
Our planet has no borders – we share the same air, the same water, the same resources, the same desire for progress and a life of fulfillment. If we share the same concerns, we can share the same goals.
We value public education as the underpinning for a more just and democratic society. We are keen to elevate regard for the Humanities, which impacts the quality of our sensibilities. We wish to reestablish teaching as the noblest and most valued of professions.
We praise public heroes who exemplify what is possible. We long for the return of communal role models that teach and inspire our youth and posterity. While no individual is perfect, it is vital to honor the contributions and achievements that heroes bring into our home.
We imagine a more tolerant and embracing culture, that honors diversity and a sustainable environment. The enjoyment of our enormous potential is fully realized through the achievement of others. The natural beauty of our world and its fragile ecosystem deliver endless wonders to our doorstep.
We are one.
Our goal is to improve the global community through targeted activities that enhance the quality of our education, leadership and environment. Let’s raise our standards, again.
We are what we think.
The Humanities. We promote exposure to the Humanities, which leads to more fulfilling lives. The Humanities provide a counterbalance to society’s material pursuits.
Critical Thinking. We view critical thinking as a discipline and a skill, to be impressed upon our youth. The price of a well-functioning Democracy is a well-informed society.
Smartening Up. We believe the Arts can be scalable and accessible to all, without dumbing them down. We celebrate story, characters, melody, complexity and texture. We applaud architecture that touches our soul and inspires us; that demands a second, third and fourth look.
Quality. We honor quality over quantity. A mindless culture of ‘more’ is the junk food of the soul.
Civics. Effective solutions to critical issues requires effective leadership. We support efforts to bring integrity, vision and boldness into our political process.
Rituals. We are wistful for a new set of social rituals that are relevant to a global era. Rituals honor culture, provide moral code and furnish guidance to life’s complexities.
Heroes. We long for the return of public heroes. Their extraordinary achievements, courage and greatness of soul provide us with role models and inspiration.
Conservation. Earth’s natural beauty is a wonder beyond comprehension. No price can be placed upon preserving these miracles.
Sustainability. We belong to the planet; the planet does not belong to us.
Diversity. We celebrate the other, and visualize a more compassionate world. Diversity makes us better and stronger.
